Today on Facebook, Spider-Gwen writer Jason Latour shared a look at the character designs for Earth-65's version of Venom, referred to simply as "Gwenom."
Spider-Gwen is one of the best things to happen to the Marvel comics for a while. Spider-Gwen #1 debuted in February of 2015. She shares a similar story to the Peter Parker story that we all know but from another Earth. She has been a symbol and icon to Marvel in the last year more so than Cap's shield. Now, you can pre-order this icon and bring her home on Kotobukiya's website.
This is your last chance to pre-order the Comic Con International exclusives from NECA. If you do miss this opportunity, it will all be alright, you can still get your hands on these at Comic Con San Diego at there booth only (booth number 3145). But of course, this will all be limited quantity so get there early so wont have to wait too long in the lines. These exclusives include: X-Force Deadpool and Spider Gwen Head Knockers Both are of 500 units with a fun bobble head.
Spider Gwen remains one of my favorite titles. Part of that appeal has been the fabulous artwork of Robbi Rodriguez. However, with his impending departure from the title, I worry about the comic's look changing too much. I really want this book to go on for a while, but not if it's going to look like just another Marvel book.
Did you think that we had already done a Needless Character Analysis for Spider Gwen? The thing to know about her is that she is actually called Spider-Woman and is from an alternate Earth where it was Gwen Stacy that was bitten by the radioactive spider, not Peter Parker. She first appeared in Edge of Spider-Verse #2, which is available in multiple formats and has been reprinted several times, making it affordable to find a copy to read. She was created by Jason Latour, Robbi Rodriguez and Rico Renzi.

Spider-Gwen Volume 2 is the title we here at Needless Essentials have been waiting through the summer for. Secret Wars temporarily ended the first series. A void was in our hearts, but we remained patient. That patience is now rewarded. If you were worried the time away would take the magic off of the best alternate version of Spider-Man to ever come down the pike, then you worried for nothing.
If you've paid attention to the trending topics on Facebook today, you may have noticed that a Spider-Gwen Trailer is burning it up. Video Editor Alex Coulombe put together a trailer for a movie that looks like it'd be so much fun to sit in a theater and watch. The trailer is part of the Vulture Remix series, which has included such great videos as Miss Piggy singing Rihanna's BBHMM and Suicide Squad mashed with the Dirty Dozen.
