Until I can get the time to read the preview issue, a review of Lumberjanes #29 is going to wait, so enjoy this preview sent to us by the fine people at BOOM!
One of the great things that have come out of cross-company crossovers is Luberjanes / Gotham Academy. Both series have found a strong fan base that are very similar, so the crossover just makes sense. It also has that fun feel of being something that a fan of both books would want to see. It also feels like a genuine attempt to expand the readership of both books, drawing in those readers of one title that are not yet reading the other. The third issue hits shops this Wednesday and BOOM! has graciously made a preview available to us.
It seems like a natural match, yet it came pretty much out of the blue that DC Comics and BOOM! Studios are crossing over two series that have a similar audience, Lumberjanes and Gotham Academy.
Lumberjanes won two Eisner awards at San Diego Comic-Con, which means that its way past time for us to do a proper review of an issue. This series has gotten a lot of positive word of mouth, but is more directed to teenage girls, so I might not be the target audience for it. However, I do appreciate good comics, so if it's as good as people say, my age and gender shouldn't matter.
