GI Joe Writer for IDW Under-fire from Fan-base (Updated)

Update: IDW has issued a statement concerning their current GI Joe writer for the mainline book. While the fandom as a whole is united lets point out that Aubrey is a freelance writer and his opinions do not reflect the opinions of IDW. We will continue to support IDW but we will no longer support this book until this has been resolved. IDW seemed sincere with their statement and that is helping to calm the fans and media alike. Our original statement has been amended below. We will stay abreast to the situation and if anything changes we will post it up.

Doctor Who: Prisoners Of Time Collected By Titan Comics

Titan Comics has collected the IDW series that commemorated Doctor Who's 50th Anniversary, Prisoners of Time! It's not a bad series and tries to tie in directly to the current television series, but also acknowledges and honors the original run of Doctor Who that made the series the legend that it is. Heck, it even honors past Doctor Who comics, not limiting itself to the television series. At $24.99, it's at a pretty good price point, too!

Jem and the Holograms 10 Preview

We have a Jem and the Holograms 10 Preview provided for us by IDW. You might get the sense that you should check out this series seeing how it was nominated for best new series and best series in our end of the year awards and co-creator Sophie Campbell won Best Artist. Jem and the Holograms #5 : Review

I've been enjoying the mess out of Jem and the Holograms. Even if it wasn't a licensed property, I'd be buying it. Sophie Campbell's artwork is so gorgeous that every character is beautiful, even when they're being absolute monsters. Kelly Thompson is writing an absolutely wonderful story about two bands at war, yet is managing to work in a great love story or two. The blending of these two creators is so perfect, I worry about the recent solicitations without Sophie Campbell on the book, but from artist's Emma Vieceli's blog, it looks like just a guest spot. Whew! I was worried there for a second.
