Suicide Squad – 1/6th scale Harley Quinn (Prisoner Version)

We all knew this was coming. Hot Toys has a history of milking a license dry (Iron Man). I do admit it though, I do like her and she should sell well enough. How many more Harley Quinn’s will we get? I have no idea but know more will be released.  In the DC Extended

Shade The Changing Man #19 – Reviews Of Old Comics

This week I’m actually presenting a review especially for the holiday season. There was a time, in 1992, when I was really engrossed in the DC Heroes Role-Playing Game. I even subscribed to Mayfair Games’ newsletter that about this time (as I recall, it could have been a later year) that among the new character

Batman #9 Preview

DC Comics sent us a preview of Batman #9, and while it's since made the rounds everywhere, I thought we should still share it with you, because I have some serious love for Psycho Pirate as a villain. Maybe it was his appearance in the All-Star Squadron/Infinity, Inc. crossover that cinched it for me, but his role in Crisis On Infinite Earths certainly helped and his story in Grant Morrison's Animal Man run was some of what proved what could be done with a meta-type of story.

Justice League of America #190 – Reviews of Old Comics

Went through the comics I remember reading as a kid and thought of this old issue of Justice League of America that impressed me. The image of super-heroes with wacky starfish attached to their faces has stuck with me to this day, making Starro one of my favorite JLA villains. It's probably this issue's striking cover that caught my eye as a kid, .

Midnighter And Apollo is one of those titles that fans of Steve Orlando's Mignighter series have been eagerly awaiting. Prez Volume 2 Cancelled By DC

Prez Volume 2 cancelled by DC Comics. That was the word from writer Mark Russell on Twitter. Prez impressed us enough to name it the best series of 2015, which wasn't an easy task, given some of the great comics that were published last year. Prez even won the National Cartoonists Society Reuben Award for best series. While sales were not strong, reviews were astounding and there was definite interest for the second half of the promised twelve issues to be published. DC Comics saw otherwise, so instead of the second half of the series, we're only getting a twelve-page  "Election Special," coinciding with our actual Presidential Election.

Lumberjanes Gotham Academy #3 Preview

One of the great things that have come out of cross-company crossovers is Luberjanes / Gotham Academy. Both series have found a strong fan base that are very similar, so the crossover just makes sense. It also has that fun feel of being something that a fan of both books would want to see. It also feels like a genuine attempt to expand the readership of both books, drawing in those readers of one title that are not yet reading the other. The third issue hits shops this Wednesday and BOOM! has graciously made a preview available to us.

Revisiting Why Dan DiDio Is Wrong

With the hubbub of DC Universe: Rebirth, and the controversy around the apparent inclusion of a hallowed group of characters, I thought it was time to revisit a critique I did of Dan Didio's statements on Before Watchmen. This was posted four years ago, to the date, on my personal blog, before I started writing for this web site. I know that Geoff Johns is the creative force behind Rebirth, but when someone has been as obvious as Didio in orchestrating large events for DC Comics, and he (or she) is in charge, the critique falls equally on his (or her) head.
