I decided to Cosplay again this year for HeroesCon. If you've never gone to a convention in costume, you should. I'm not saying that you should compete in the costume contest. That adds a level of competition to it, and for beginners, I wouldn't recommend it. The first time that you cosplay, the focus should be on having fun, and it can be fun. Last year, I cosplayed as the Time Trapper, taking my daughter in her Katana costume. It was fun, but I learned that cosplay that involves fabric dragging the floor can be a hazard on escalators and stairs. This year, my daughter wanted to go as Supergirl, which led to an idea for my costume, Giorgio Tsoukalos, also known as the Ancient Aliens Guy. It's meant to draw attention to her outfit and compliment it.

Day Two of HeroesCon 2017 was the day I tried my hand at cosplay. Every year, my young daughter dresses up. She’s done so even before she turned one and she was dressed as Yoda. Since, she has been Saturn Girl, She-Ra, and Terra. This year, her fascination with DC Super Hero Girls prompted her
This weekend has seen a large number of conventions, including Phoenix Comicon. On Thursday, Phoenix police arrested 30-year-old Mathew Sterling (source) who was dressed in body armor and had made threats to police on social media. He was arrested carrying four guns, including a shotgun, and a knife (source). The incident prompted the Phoenix Comicon to adjust its weapons policy, including the possession of replica weapons. Phoenix Comicon's restrictions were very complete, including all edged weapons, firearms, archery weapons, and weapons from fictional sources, like lightsabers and phasers. In short, if it's a weapon, it's banned.
I knew this would grab your attention. That same statement is in fact real and a done deal for a local Florida Convention . We will not argue the legitimacy of the issue but look into the rights of promoters as a whole and the potential impact on the fandom from both sides of the
I’ve been working out how I feel about Saturday at Heroes Con. I went in a little bit of a funk after inadvertently parking in a $20 garage the day before. I talked to a couple of friends, but I was really not feeling like there wasn’t an overwhelming love of comics filling the convention floor, despite there being a lot of people of there that really loved comics, so it was almost all on me, but it did put me in the mood to look closely at the convention.
Saturday at HeroesCon was bigger and better than Friday. There were more guests, more panels and more costumes! Join us now for a brief glimpse of some of the happenings on Saturday at HeroesCon 2016!
It's HeroesCon time again and tons of people flocked to Charlotte, NC this weekend to meet artists, buy comics and just generally hang out with fellow fans. I got to attend with my wife again this year, so I bring you the thoughts of a toy collector (and mild comic collector) on this year's HeroesCon!

Cosplay Sunday is back and we have a treat for you! Last week Tampa Bay Comic Con was held in the ever so beautiful Tampa Bay Florida and fans came out in droves. While the weather was icky, fans heated the show up with cosplay. Early on I thought this was Dragoncon style show due to the risque outfits (sorry guys, I will not post those pics) and with this show labeled family friendly, I was surprised. Of course this was no Dragon but the fans came dressed as if it was. The cosplay was intense!!
FRIDAY by Scott Perrett Day one of Heroes Con! This was my first time at Heroes Con so I decided to do things a bit differently than most conventions I go to. Typically, I'll dig through old toys and hit $1 boxes, and maybe wind up at a panel. I usually don't go into Artists Alley much and when I do, I'm already out of money. This time, however, I spent most of my time in Artists Alley. I met and got autographs from a ton of awesome artists like Mike Zeck, John Beatty, Bob Mcleod and Evan Dorkin, who drew an awesome Milk & Cheese in the hardcover book I bought. My wife and I were able to get a few comics triple signed by Joe Quinones, Chip Zdarsky, Jason Latour, Robbie Rodriguez and Rico Renzi, who was kind enough to meet with me on his break from running the con. Many of the artists charge very little to nothing for their autographs. Some, like Geof Darrow, ask for a donation to a charity of their choice. The most anyone was asking was $5 and some of them were having raffles to win free signed prints with each autograph purchase, which is where I got the Mike Zeck GI Joe print.
