I didn't expect to be doing another one of these so soon after covering The Last Avengers Story, but Spider-Man: Life Story started showing up on Marvel Unlimited and I really enjoyed the first couple of issues. I've had the crazy idea to have characters to age in real time. It's apparently not that crazy of an idea, because we've gotten a view of the Marvel Universe if characters aged in real time. It's all centered around Peter Parker.
Sex Criminals, the mature readers title from Image Comics is coming back. We last saw Suzie and Jon back in June of 2018. Some of us were beginning to think that it was becoming the victim of it's own success. Never fear, Matt Fraction and Chip Zdarsky are bringing it back. In January, 2020 the final story arc, "The End."sees its beginnings.
Archie Comics has sent us a Jughead 3 Preview, so we thought we'd pass it along to you. Jughead has impressed us with how well it's given us the feel of classic Jughead stories, yet being a little more grounded in the new Riverdale. The best part is always Jughead's imagination, but the juxtaposition against reality is what makes it so fun.
I was a little disappointed by the first issue of Jughead, but with the second issue promising the return of the Time Police, I just had to read Jughead #2. Would it delivery the quality that I've come to expect from Chip Zdarsky, much less the quality I'm currently expecting from Archie Comics? If I told you now, there'd be no reason for you keep reading, would there?
The first copies of Jughead #1 have gone out and reviews are starting to pour in. Since I've loved the Archie reboot so much, I was eager to read this, but does it hold up to Archie? Does it hold up to classic Jughead? Well let's get into it. Update: Initially, when putting in the rating, I went to an old method that I used on a one to ten scale instead of the percentage our interface uses. That made it look like this issue got a review of about half a star out of five stars. Sorry, Archie Comics.
