Well, the idea of everything changing in Riverdale went pretty well. Our worst fears weren’t realized, but everything did change for the Riverdale gang, and one in particular. Mark Waid and Pete Woods pulled at the heart strings enough to make an impact greater than any event Archie Comics tried to pull off in the
Archie Comics has promised that “Over The Edge” will change the New Riverdale with tragedy striking one of the gang. Now with Archie #22, we finally learn the outcome of this story that changes everything. It's been promised that everything would change for the new Riverdale in "Over The Edge." A beloved Riverdale resident would face tragedy, and the instant speculation began over who it would be. Well, from the looks of this preview, things don't look good for a certain Ms. Cooper. Of course, that could be a red herring and it'll be a twist ending from out of nowhere. I guess we'll have to wait a couple of weeks to find out.
The new Archie series has been very interesting to follow since its debut last year, and this is no exception. Mark Waid has firmly set up a series of events and redefined characters for the 21st century without betraying their iconic roots. The largest shake-up has to be the rocky relationship status of Archie and Betty and how Archie and Veronica have become firmly established as a couple.
In a press release yesterday, Archie Comics announced that Veronica Fish is the new regular artist on the flagship book for the new Riverdale line. Following on a world developed by award winning artist Fiona Staples. Her work has provided a seamless transition after Staples has left, and while Annie Wu was an excellent fill-in artists, Veronica Fish's art works just as smoothly with Mark Waid's story.
Archie Comics has sent us previews of Archie #6, the latest issue in one of our favorite new series of 2015. With what looks like the new regular artist Veronica Fish, the sample pages show the first signs that the budding relationship between Archie and Veronica has a threat in the form of Riverdale's former richest teenager, Reggie Mantle. Mark Waid's story further develops the supporting cast of Riverdale High, updating them, yet keeping them familiar. Check out the preview below, and then reserve your copy for next month!
I promised an Archie #5 review, so buckle up. Archie #5 hits your local comic shop today with amazing variant covers and a new artist, Veronica Fish. The previous issues have done very well. Will this one continue a streak of excellent comics?
Archie #5 continues the series that has impressed so many critics. It was a real surprise to see Archie and the gang so successfully relaunched. It has given new life to the iconic characters that almost every casual comic fan knows about. The latest issue promises to develop the rivalry between Betty and Veronica. While we have strong feelings about variant covers, the variant by Thomas Pitilli is spectacular. Read on for the preview pages sent to us by Archie Comics, and expect a review soon, because we love the series that much.
This week, the Archie Collectors Edition, collecting the first three issues of Archie, by Mark Waid and Fiona Staples arrives in your local comic shop. The new Riverdale seemed like a very risky move for Archie Comics, but these issues were very well received, and sold extremely well for the publisher of one of the most iconic comic book characters around. Now you can have them a collected edition for your bookshelf instead of filed away in some boxes. As a bonus, both Mark Waid and Fiona Staples talk about recreating Archie and Riverdale, and there's a look at Fiona Staples' art process.
The new Archie series has been one of the gems of this year, so it's no surprise that we've been looking forward to Archie #4. Mark Waid has been crafting a wonderfully charming and believable Riverdale and revealing each character slowly. He's also crafted the mystery that opened the series with "the lipstick incident" that broke up the couple of Archie and Betty. If you've been wanting to find out exactly what happened, this is the issue for you.
We've got a preview of Archie #3 in our e-mail today, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't squee a little bit. Mark Waid and Fiona Staples have been knocking this series out the park. With this issue promising the first real look at Veronica Lodge in the new Riverdale, it promises to be something really special.
One of the surprises for me this year has been the relaunched Archie series by Mark Waid and Fiona Staples. Archie Comics has been kind enough to send us some teaser pages. I'm calling them teasers because we're only seeing the art, which includes one of the first interactions between Archie and Veronica. I'm really waiting to read this, so check them out, and assume that we'll have a review as soon as we can before the September 30 release date.
