SDCC 2014 LEGO Unikitty & Bard Minifigure Exclusives!

Did you hear that sound? That sound was the cries of thousands of LEGO fans screaming with the reveal of the next 2 mini fig giveaways. Up for grabs at SDCC will be Unikitty from the LEGO Movie and Bard from the Hobbit! There is a 4th figure yet to be revealed but my money in on another Guardians of the Galaxy figure.

LEGO will also be unveiling another amazing LEGO sculpt which will be at the booth – a six-foot tall Smaug sculpt, made out of 83,433 pieces of Lego and weighs 411 pounds. This is going to be amazing!!!

Also there are some changes to the way people can score these elusive figures….

The giveaway will take place in the same area as last year – the Pavilion Terrace outside of the Sails Pavilion, but they have made several other changes to the process to avoid the traffic congestion and complaints from last year. Instead of a ticketing process, attendees will walk up to an iPad and hit a button to enter, and they will know immediately if they are a winner. Attendees will have one chance to enter per day – badges will be scanned to prevent people getting in line twice. And like last year, a different minifigure will be given out each day, but it sounds like they won’t announce it until the end of the day, as opposed to announcing the giveaway schedule beforehand as in previous years.

All I can say is good luck folks, this one is going to be tough. I do think that the Unikitties will win the show and the secondary market when it’s all said and done.
