Rise of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Leonardo Review!
Rise of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles seem to be doing very well at retail and it seems one figure is getting a little tougher to find; Leonardo! In fact, good old Leonardo is our next review and he is a fun one indeed. How does he stack up to his brothers? Read on to see why you need this green guy in your life!
Leonardo was always a favorite of mine and this version reinforced that belief. He is a simple design packed full of fun. Let’s face it, anytime we get a good figure with a big sword is a win. Mix that with some good articulation then that’s even better. The overall feel of the figure is solid and as mentioned, the articulation is fantastic for this scale.
Leonardo jumps right from the small screen to the toy shelves in a majestic fashion. His overall look came out great in toy form and just like the rest, he has solid movement. Kids will enjoy this figure more than a static 5 POA figure any day. The same could be said for collectors. As someone who enjoys the vintage line, they do lack articulation. It still amazes me that Playmates can produce these figures with articulation and come in under the $10 mark. Other companies should take notice. Kids like movement and adults like to display their toys!
The paint apps are quite solid for this sample and everything came out clean. Some of the others had splotches here and there Leonardo is okay. I have no issues with the paint apps.
Accessories are about the same but stylized per the figures personality. I’m just pleased with the sword and skateboard. Also each figure does come with throwing stars so keep an eye on those as I have already misplaced a few already. Hey it happens so no worries. Really, all Leonardo needed was that sword and with that, I am one happy camper.
This figure is just solid folks and you need to add him to the collection. Trust me, this new line is amazing and we would like to continue these reviews! We have one more coming up and it will be a double combo so definitely keep an eye out for that. Plus we are working on a theme, which will come to fruition with the next review. I’m not quite sure how to pull it off but we are working on it! Once we complete this initial wave we aim to get one new review done a month to help support this line.
