NECA The New Face of Horror
As we continue our march to pure horror we must look at the new kid on the block. Now calling NECA the new kid is a bit much but they do represent the new face of horror collectibles. Back in the late 90’s and early 2000’s McFarlane was the king of the hill when it came to horror action figures and no one could touch them. You could go to Walmart and pick up a horror figure with ease. Horror in general was making a come back to the toy shelves thanks to McFarlane and all was good! While McFarlane shifted away from the horror themes someone else came up and took control. Now mind you, McFarlane now produces The Walking Dead toys but we’ll save that for later.
NECA was born in 1996 and by 2002 NECA Reel Toys was established to bring hot action figures and dolls to the market. NECA snapped up licences that many other companies shunned away from with several of them being non-marketable by other companies standards. NECA would go on and produce some of the most unique figures from properties no one would ever consider! NECA, in my opinion, controls the market when it comes to video game figures and their horror resume looks stunning. Check out the full list of properties NECA controls and see what you might have in your collection.

There is no slowing down the “new kid” and just recently NECA provided new images to their Ultimate Freddy Krueger figure and lucky fans should be on the look out for the soft goods Leatherface. As far as classic horror goes, no one can touch NECA and they continue to build up an impressive library of characters. In fact, an Ultimate Leather Face figure was just announced a few days ago and if it’s anything like the Krueger, fans will be pleased. Take a look of some of the samplings from NECA and you can see how they rule the Horror section of any toy store.
