1989 saw the release of a new series of Pretenders Transformers. The Pretenders were Transformers hidden inside shells disguised as humans, monsters and even vehicles. The second series featured one of my favorites, Bludgeon.
In the late 70's Mattel released the Shogun Warriors toyline. The toyline was made from imported robots from multiple different anime and included different sized figures from 3" tall to the 24" tall "Jumbo Machinders" subset of Shogun Warriors. 1977 saw the release of the shortest Shogun Warrior in the Jumbo Machinders subset, Godzilla!
For this week's Random Toys, we're taking a look at an entire toy line rather than just one toy! Since it is the 50 year anniversary of Star Trek, I thought we'd take a look at one of my favorite Star Trek toylines, the Galoob Star Trek The Next Generation line.
This past SDCC saw a lot of Masters of the Universe releases by Super7, One of which caught my eye immediately. This week's random toy is the MOTU MUSCLE Trash Can set.
Transformers were huge when they came out in the 80's and when you have a hit toyline, you're going to have knock offs start coming out of the wood work. Transformers were no exception to this. Most of the time knock offs are cheaper and less desirable than the originals, but in some cases, they can wind up cooler than what they're knocking off. Such is the case with today's Random Toy, the Transistor Robots Insect made by Four Star
Toys based on Civil War have been trickling out the past few months and this week we're looking at one of the newest ones, the Toys R Us exclusive Civil War Minimates Falcon & Antman set.
One of my favorite new toylines right now is the Titans Return Transformers line. This is bringing the old subset Headmasters back to retail shelves. One of the nice aspects of this line is the Titan Master scale which is an individual Headmaster head (now called a Titan Master) This week, we're looking at one of my favorites in this scale, Crashbash!
In 1994 Tyco released the Battletech toyline based on the cartoon of the same name (That was based on the tabletop game from the 80's) The toyline isn't the most popular with fans of the game, but it's charm is not lost on some of us. For this week's Random Toys we are looking at the series 2 repaint of Axman piloted by Adam Steiner
Near the end of the GoBots toyline we saw a new subset of 8" tall GoBots called Dread Launchers. For this week's Random Toys, we're looking at the leader of the Renegade Dread Launchers, Re-Volt!
The supernatural counselor on the show The Venture Brothers, Dr. Henry Killinger, is the subject of our latest Random Toy. Produced by Biff Bang Pow! the figure we're looking at is the mego inspired 8" retro figure from the Venture Bros. toyline.
1992 saw one of the oddest GI Joe figures and this week's Random Toy: The Toxo Zombie! Join us after the jump to take a look at this crazy figure from near the end of the GI Joe 3 3/4" toy line
There are a lot of different sized figures and products under the G.I. Joe brand and this week I wanted to focus on one of my favorites from my childhood, The GI Joe Micro Figures.
