(Editor's Note: Thumbnails are currently being updated for increased size. Please pardon the inconsistency.) In the late 1970s/early 1980s, Whitman had a deal with DC Comics to reprint their comics and package them for sale in retail outlets like Woolworth's, Sears, K-Mart, etc. They were packaged in plastic as a 2 pack or 3 pack, usually of the same title. The appearance of the packaging would vary. Whitman also apparently reprinted Marvel comics in a similar fashion, but their cover designs were not so significantly altered, which is why this gallery is focusing on the DC Whitmans.
The past 24 hours has seen Wonder Woman show up in multiple stories within my Google News feed. With Michelle MacLaren stepping down as director of the upcoming Wonder Woman film over "creative differences," usually a sign of trouble in production, to Patty Jenkins taking over as director, and the auctioning of the first ever Woman Woman sketch both showing up in my feed, it seemed like a good opportunity to explore the character and why there seems to be so much trouble with how to handle or, either in comics or in other media.
Part 3 to DC Comics June Solits are here and we have some big stories unfolding. The most anticipated story is emerging from Justice League. Read on for all the details!
DC unveiled new looks for Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman, with the general consensus being that they are not successful new looks. Some people like them, but there is not a single one that everyone can come to a consensus is a good costume. Well, everyone has already dissected these costumes so we decided to instead of jumping on the bandwagon and trashing these new looks, we'd look at some of the all-time worst costumes in comics. These are not in order, and are limited to one per character. Coincidentally, these are also only Marvel and DC, just because more history means more chances to have an embarrassing costume. They are also limited to costumes that stuck around for a little bit, which keeps a lot of Silver Age Batman costumes off the list.
Week 3 of Convergence books are here! I am really looking forward to these stories of heroes from Crisis of Infinite Earths. Hopefully these will turn into some classic DC stories. Read on for more.
Wonder Woman '77 #1 Writer: Mark Andreyko Artist: Drew Johnson Colorist: Romulo Fajardo Jr. Synopsis: Take a trip back to the days of disco with everyone's favorite Amazon Princess. Wonder Woman hits the dance floor in pursuit of an escaped Russian spy. Review: It seems as if DC has been having some good success lately with its line of Digital First comics. Injustice has garnered a lot of fans. Sensation Comics has filled a need for Wonder Woman fans. Batman '66 has recaptured a sense of fun that has been missing from Batman for a while. In the vein of Batman '66, Wonder Woman '77 captures the feeling of the television series, pitting Wonder Woman against Cold War-era villains.

by Mrs. Stan Ford Let me start this article by stating up front that I was not into comics before meeting my comic loving husband. I don’t have much background on many of the characters. I owe 99% of what comic knowledge I have now to my husband’s conversations on the topic and our adventures
