This weekend has seen a large number of conventions, including Phoenix Comicon. On Thursday, Phoenix police arrested 30-year-old Mathew Sterling (source) who was dressed in body armor and had made threats to police on social media. He was arrested carrying four guns, including a shotgun, and a knife (source). The incident prompted the Phoenix Comicon to adjust its weapons policy, including the possession of replica weapons. Phoenix Comicon's restrictions were very complete, including all edged weapons, firearms, archery weapons, and weapons from fictional sources, like lightsabers and phasers. In short, if it's a weapon, it's banned.

Canadian comic artist Gisèle Lagacé, known most recently for her work on Jem And The Holograms, Archie Meets The Ramones and Betty Boop, was scheduled to be at Artist's Alley and the IDW table at C2E2 in Chicago this weekend. We are done! Yes, the journey that was Star Wars Celebration is now in the books. While this one had issues, Reedpop came through and corrected some of those issues. Gentle Giant blew me away. While I was unable to get any of the con exclusives, I did enjoy the Star Wars Jumbo display. I do believe this is the first time I have ever seen them all in one location. Impressive this was! Gentle Giant also had a few reveals as well.
