Each week I try and post a sneak peak of some books hitting the news stand. This week will be rough as I see a huge comic bill in my future. Some of the stand out tittles include EAST OF WEST, SAGA. WD, BATMAN and so much more! I only picked 11 for the week but trust me, this is not even half of my pull. Enjoy! Also make sure you check us out on FB as I will be posting the full list of releases very soon for you all. I am a huge fan of the Legion of Super-Heroes, published by DC, almost non-stop, for over fifty years. This summer marks the end of that streak for the foreseeable future. Even when they didn't have their own regular series, the Legion would appear in back-ups in Action Comics and Superboy, before taking over the latter title and starting a publishing streak that saw the rise of artists like Mike Grell, Pat Broderick, Keith Giffen, Steve Lightle, Stuart Immonen, Oliver Coipel, Francis Manapul, among others. Sadly, in recent years, the title has been hurt by reduced sales, changes in direction and apparent mixed editorial messaging as to the purpose of a book set 1,000 years in the future.
Diamond Comics Distribution sent word down to all comic shop owners on some potential changes to the New 52 Villain Month books. All orders for Villains month are now allocated. What this entails is this: All books are now sold out at the publisher level but each 3-D motion cover will have a 2-D version as well. Allocations could equal 50% of order or more/ less but will be bases on order averages. Here is the official announcement:
DC Comics provided even more information concerning Villain month! Check it out! Also if you plan to get all the 3-D covers then the next story is a must read. More after the jump!
The Joker, Two-Face, The ventriloquist and Poison Ivy round out week one of the soon to be released Villain Month books! Are you ready? I know I am! Keep reading for all the details!
Take a gander at some of next weeks new releases. This is just a tease on what we would call the top 10 plus one runner up. Take a look and tell us what you think!
As we all know, this week was the final issue to BATMAN, INCORPORATED. If you want to read more from this series your wait will be short lived. DC posted a new sneak peek of the upcoming Batman Incorporated Special. Keep reading for more info.
Batman Beyond was the Bat character set of my 90s adolescence. Sure, the earlier Timm Batman Animated was legendary, but I dug the futuristic Bats. I've been a fan of the resurgence comics featuring those characters. New adventures. New characters. New daring future!
Holy cow Batman, this is nice! This Wednesday we will get the regular edition of this hot book but if your going to SDCC then make sure you pick THIS edition up as well. DC Comics reimagines the classic Batman TV series in comics form for the first time! These all-new stories portray The Caped Crusader, The Boy Wonder and their fiendish rogues gallery just the way viewers remember them. This COMIC-CON exclusive edition cover of BATMAN ‘66 #1 features a striking photo of Mattel’s Batman action figures based on the classic television series.
We have all seen her and each of us asked the same questions..who is Pandora and what does she want? Some say this is DC's way out of a bad reboot and others think it's something a lot more. I am leaning towards the latter. In one more day hopefully we will start to get some answers.
