Joe Declassified (http://
Joe Declassified brings the hobby to you! Joe Declassified is a not-for-profit organization that seeks to broaden the understanding of the hardcore enthusiast and casual fan of G.I. Joe alike. The staff are archaeologists, anthropologists, and historians of the best danged toy line ever. Joe Delcassified considers every hobbyist a member.
As such, Joe Declassified brings you the best traveling “museum” of G.I.Joe toys. Pre-production material, foreign production releases, and comic and cartoon oddities from every incarnation of Joe is their focus.
Chris “TOPSON” Murray – Joe Intel Contributor & Joe Declassified Staff/Contributor
Chris “TOPSON” Murray is an admin and contributor of JoeIntel.com, is staff, volunteer, and donor of Joe Declassified and a co-host of the Joe Declassified: Spec-Ops podcast. Chris is a stringently vintage-era G.I. Joe collector and also maintains the reputation of being one of the most revered pre-production collectors and historians in the hobby. Gyre-Viper had this to say about Chris who will be leading the Joe Declassified panel at Assembly Required:
“TOPSON became my mentor overnight. His influence on my collecting has been significant. Why is this important? Because we’re talking about me.”
Gary “Gyre-Viper” Head – Joe Declassified Staff & Goggle Enthusiast
Gary “Goggles” alias “Gyre-Viper” has been described as both archaeologist and curator of GI JOE’s past, present, and future. Gyre-Viper is staff member, volunteer, and donor of Joe Declassified and a regular contributor to sites like GeneralsJoes.com and JoeCustoms.com, providing upfront and exclusive reveals, information, and artifacts from over 30 years of GI JOE’s history. In return, he’s earned massive ovations from the hobby’s elite: Sam Damon, owner of Joe Declassified says: “Gyre-Viper is a mentally diminutive roly poly with delusions of grandeur, who thinks that electrical tape on protective eye-wear for swimming is somehow indicative of cutting edge fashion. He’s the toy collector’s Ron Jeremy – willing to do anything for the notoriety, and with half the respect.” The laurels of reverence continue with Kevin Watts who exclaims: “I guess if my personality was permanently tied to a poorly chosen fashion accessory, I would be a jerk to the world, too.” The searing acclaim doesn’t stop there, as the absolute voice of the hobby, Justin Bell of Generals Joes had this to say about Gyre-Viper: “Gary Goggles Head has an irrational hatred of everything G.I. Joe released since 2009, which is ironic because he didn’t even start collecting until 2009.”
This will be Gyre-Viper’s third appearance at Assembly Required. Despite numerous requests by the show runners not to return.
We couldn’t be more excited about this year’s line up & exhibits! We look forward to seeing you there!
